Report on an Outbreak of Cholera on Board the "Edith Moore"

1. The ship Edith Moore, commanded by Captain Pierce, took in, on the 30th May, three thousand five hundred gallons of water,, from the Widow and Orphan Filtering Company. Messrs. Nicoll & Fleming, the Agents of the vessel, were good enough to show me the mate's voucher for the water thus obtained, and the Company's receipt for the money which had been paid for it. 2. The Shipping Master, Captain Caw, informs me that the Edith Moore cleared at the Shipping Office, with a clean bill 0f health, on the 31st May, in view to dropping down the river early on the following morning; there was no surgeon on board. 3. It appears from the concuri'cnt testimony of the men sent up from the Edith Moore, at Saugor, on the 4th of June, to be admitted into the Presidency General Hospital, and now convalescents in that Institution, that a water tank and two casks on the deck?not filled on the 30tn May?were replenished
